Surrey & White Rock Better at Home 

The Surrey and White Rock Better at Home programs have integrated to a central intake phone line to accommodate the expansion of the program into more communities while simplifying the process. The Surrey and White Rock Better at Home program is now providing services to seniors in the communities of Cloverdale, Guildford, Fleetwood, Newton, South Surrey, Whalley, and White Rock.

What is Better at Home?

Better at Home is a program that helps seniors with simple non-medical, day-to-day tasks so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes, and remain connected to their communities.  The Government of British Columbia funds the program, United Way of the Lower Mainland manages it, and local non-profit organizations provide the services.

What Services are Included?

Seniors Come Share Society is thrilled to be offering the non-medical services to help support Cloverdale / South Surrey / White Rock seniors remain independent. Seniors Come Share Society will be providing the following Better at Home services:

       Social Programs
       Light Housekeeping
       Basic Yard / Home Maintenance

Am I eligible?

If you are a senior age 65+ living in the Surrey and White Rock area, you may be eligible.

Who pays for Better at Home?

The Government of BC has given United Way of the Lower Mainland funding to manage Better at Home across BC, and in turn, funded the Better at Home programs throughout the province. Seniors who receive Better at Home services will also pay a fee for some services, based on their previous year’s reported in come. The fees for services other than Friendly Visiting could be subsidized based on your last year’s income. (Proof Required).
