Surrey, BC September 15, 2020 – Seniors Come Share Society launches a new online platform, SHARE (Socialization, Health, Awareness, Recreation and Education) to continue providing programs and services to older adults in the community despite the restrictions of COVID-19. SHARE can be found at sharevirtually.com.
“We have been adapting how we provide our programs and services since the start of the pandemic,” says Louise Tremblay, Executive Director. “And our clients and the community have been adapting with us. An online platform was the next logical step, and the community agreed.”
The new platform will provide access to some of the recreational adult day program activities previously done in Come Share’s facilities, as well as social circles, cooking classes, caregiver and family services to name a few.
“Meal delivery was one of the first needs we addressed with the enforced restrictions placed on us by the pandemic,” adds Tremblay. “Many people relied on us not only for the social and physical activities we provide, but also for our meal programs. We are currently delivering over 200 meals a week to seniors in the community.”
